Reproduction and Spawning Working Group Collaborative Project Underway; Results poster to be presented at the National Capital Area Branch of AALAS and also at the ZHA meeting as part of the World Aquaculture Society Meeting
The ZHA Reproduction and Spawning Working Group is currently conducting a study on the effects of varying holding densities on reproductive success in zebrafish. The study, a unique collaborative research project that includes participants from zebrafish laboratories from the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia, will generate data that can be used to help establish scientifically based guidelines for housing zebrafish in laboratory conditions. Group leader Dan Castranova (who is also ZHA president-elect) has been invited to present preliminary results at the World Aquaculture Society Meeting's Zebrafish Workshop in Seattle, Washington, USA, which is taking place on February 16-17th of 2009. For more details on this event, see Upcoming Events under the News section of this website.

To promote and develop zebrafish husbandry standards through education, collaboration, and publication.
